At the core of the Mercedes-AMG One lies a highly advanced E PERFORMANCE hybrid system built around a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 directly derived from contemporary Formula 1 engineering. This combustion unit is paired with four electric motors, each fulfilling a specific function within the powertrain: an electrically assisted turbocharger designed to eliminate lag, a crankshaft-mounted motor supporting combustion torque, and two front-axle motors providing fully electric torque vectoring.

Together, this architecture produces 1,063 hp, delivered through a constantly balanced interplay between mechanical and electric power. The engine is engineered to sustain extremely high rotational speeds while maintaining instantaneous throttle response, giving the AMG One a driving character unmistakably shaped by single-seater technology.

In terms of measurable performance, the car accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 7.0 seconds, and covers 0–300 km/h in 15.6 seconds, figures that reflect both its aerodynamic efficiency and its hybrid power delivery. Top speed is electronically managed at 352 km/h. A 7-speed single-clutch automated gearbox, derived from motorsport development, directs power to the rear axle, while the hybrid front axle enables precise control of traction and rotation under load.

The car’s kerb weight of approximately 1,695 kg is achieved through a carbon-fibre monocoque combined with lightweight hybrid components. Its push-rod suspension, all-wheel-drive layout and extensive active aerodynamics ensure predictable chassis balance at high speed. Dedicated driving modes — including Race Plus and Strat 2 — activate features such as chassis lowering, adaptive aerodynamic elements and DRS functionality, enhancing straight-line speed and high-downforce stability on both road and track.
