The Healey Silverstone uses the Riley 2,443 cc Big Four four-cylinder, with two camshafts set high in the block, short pushrods, hemispherical chambers and twin SU H4 carburettors, rated at 104 bhp at 4,500 rpm and 179 Nm at 3,000 rpm, 0 to 60 mph in about 7 seconds and 110 mph, with a four-speed Riley manual gearbox driving a live rear axle. Len Hodges drew the aluminium body over a ladder chassis with cruciform bracing, and the car weighs 940 kg. The front uses trailing arms with coil springs and an anti-roll bar, the rear a torque tube with a Panhard rod, and Lockheed drums do the braking.

A cross-border registration normally requires the vehicle registration document, the certificate of conformity or an equivalent type-approval record, the purchase invoice showing the VAT treatment, and proof that any tax due in the destination country has been settled. Temporary export plates and transport insurance are arranged either by the dealer or by the buyer. Requirements differ by country and should be confirmed with the selling dealer before payment.
