FAQ

How LUSSO follows prices

What we read, how a reduction is detected, and exactly what the position indicator does and does not say.

How does LUSSO spot a price reduction?

LUSSO reads the cars each dealer publishes at regular intervals and keeps their price at every pass. When the new figure is lower than the previous one, in the same currency, the reduction is detected automatically, with both prices and both dates.

Where do the prices shown on LUSSO come from?

They come straight from the listings dealers publish. LUSSO does not set prices: we follow how they move so that a change is easy to spot.

Is a price reduction always a discount?

No. A reduction means the dealer is showing a lower figure today than at our previous reading. A change of currency or of VAT regime is never counted as a reduction.

What happens if the price goes back up, or the car sells?

If the price goes back up, the car no longer appears among the current reductions. It also leaves as soon as it is no longer published in the dealer's stock.

How is the LUSSO position calculated?

The price is compared with the other listings of the same model on LUSSO. The indicator says whether the car sits below, near or above the median price, and states how many vehicles the comparison used.

Is a price below the median always a good deal?

It is a useful signal, not a guarantee. The LUSSO indicator compares the published prices of one model across all years, mileages and specifications. When there are not enough comparable vehicles, no position is shown.
