Buying across a border is ordinary at this level of the market, and it is the reason a pan-European catalogue is worth searching rather than a national one.

Four things decide whether a cross-border purchase is straightforward. Whether the dealer can invoice with VAT stated separately, which changes the real cost for a business buyer. Whether the car has its certificate of conformity, without which registration in another country turns into an individual approval procedure. How the car travels, on a transporter or on its own plates. And what the destination country asks for at registration, which is a national matter and not the seller's.

None of this is settled on a listing page. Each of these points is answered by the dealer selling the car, and every listing on LUSSO names that dealer and routes your enquiry to them.

How to read an asking price on this catalogue

Dealers price in six currencies here: euros, pounds sterling, dirhams, Czech korunas, Swedish kronor and dollars. Every card and every listing page keeps the dealer's own figure in the dealer's own currency, because that is the number the dealer will honour. The euro value shown next to it, where one is shown, is an indicative conversion carried at a dated rate, and it exists to let two cars from two countries be compared, not to be quoted back to a seller.

Some cars carry no figure at all. A price on request is not evasion at this level of the market: it is the usual treatment for cars whose value depends on provenance, mileage and options rather than on a list, and the answer comes from the dealer.

An asking price is also not a transaction price. What a catalogue can show is what is being asked today, across a whole market, which is a more useful reference than a single advertisement.

What this catalogue contains, and what it leaves out

Every car published here comes from a specialist dealer, never from a private seller, and clears a published price threshold of 30,000 euros. Motorcycles are a separate catalogue with a threshold of 20,000 euros. A threshold is a blunt instrument, but it is an honest one: it is the difference between a marketplace for exceptional cars and a classified-ad site that happens to carry some.

Cars that leave the market do not leave the site. Their pages stay online with their photographs, their specification and the last price asked, marked as sold and no longer available, because a sold car is the only public evidence of what a model was actually advertised at.
