About the Buick Riviera

It shares GM's E-body with the Oldsmobile Toronado and Cadillac Eldorado but keeps rear-wheel drive. For 1969 the grille took fine vertical bars under two wider horizontal ones, and the ignition lock moved to the steering column. Dave Holls is credited with the design of the second generation.

Buick built the second-generation Riviera in Flint from 1966 to 1970; 52,872 were made for 1969.
