About the Cadillac Escalade

The fifth-generation Escalade was the first with an independent rear axle, replacing the live axle of every car before it, and the first with a curved OLED dashboard of 38 inches. The Escalade seats seven or eight over 5,38 metres, and the independent rear axle lowered the boot floor enough to make the third row usable by adults for the first time.

Cadillac was founded at Detroit in 1902 and has been General Motors' senior marque since 1909. It brought the electric starter to production in 1912 and the first mass-produced V8 in 1914, and the Escalade has been its largest car since 1999.
