The Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera uses the 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4, with desmodromic valve gear, rated at 224 PS (165 kW) with the racing exhaust, in a motorcycle of 159 kg dry, with a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter and chain final drive. Desmodromic valve gear closes the valves mechanically instead of with springs, which lets the engine turn higher, and Ducati has used it since 1956. The Superleggera carries a carbon fibre frame, swingarm and wheels, the first production motorcycle to do so. Winglets on the fairing, taken from MotoGP, press the front wheel down at speed and hold the machine level under acceleration, and this was among the first road motorcycles to carry them.
Equipment as listed by the dealer. Verify the specification with the dealer before purchase.
