About the BSA Lightning

Drum brakes of 8 inches at the front and 7 at the rear stop it, with a twin-leading-shoe front brake from 1969; dry weight is 179 kg. From 1969 it also had balanced exhaust pipes and revised silencers. A gold, fully faired Lightning with missiles appears in the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball.

BSA built the Lightning in Birmingham from 1965 to 1972 as its all-round sports twin, largely for export to the United States.
