Sold BMW 1M Cars

BMW built 6,309 cars in a single year, widening the 1 Series body by 55 mm to take the M3 axles, differential and brakes; it is the only M car offered with a manual gearbox alone.

BMW has built cars at Munich since 1928 and aircraft engines before that, which is what the blue and white roundel of the Bavarian flag records. M GmbH was founded in 1972 to run the racing programme and has prepared the road cars that carry its letter ever since.
