This 1960 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet Ponton is a used car showing 77,500 km. It is equipped with a manual transmission. The car is finished in Graphitgrau with a Red interior.
One of only 1,112 Ponton 220 SE cabriolets, built in the final year of the body, when the coupé and cabriolet outlived the saloon. From August 1959 they took the six-cylinder of the new fintail 220 SEb, with straight intake pipes and a sharper camshaft, and production of both ended in November 1960.
Delivered new in Germany in 1960, the car is in its third hands, and the present owner has kept it for ten years. He was told the reading on the odometer is the original total, and the well-preserved original interior supports it. Always properly serviced, it is registered and ready to use.
The car is located in Berlin, Germany.
The Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet uses the 2,195 cc M127 straight-six with Bosch mechanical manifold injection, rated at 120 PS (88 kW) at 4,800 rpm and 189 Nm from August 1959, for 165 km/h, with a four-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels, the Hydrak automatic clutch at extra cost. The two-door body rides on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, shorter than the saloon's 2,820 mm. Apart from its engine it matches the carburettor 220 S Cabriolet.

The car is located in Berlin, Germany. The dealer quotes it as: VAT included and not reclaimable: sold under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.
The manufacturer's base list price was €11,862 in Germany, excluding options. This car is advertised at €157,500, 1228% above that figure. A list price is the launch price of the version without options, so a heavily specified car left the factory above it, and it says nothing about what the car is worth today. That 1959 list price is converted to euros with no adjustment for inflation.
77,500 km recorded, against a median of 76,315 km across the Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet advertised in Europe in 2026. It is therefore among the higher-mileage cars currently listed. Service records and ownership details should be checked against the documents held by the selling dealer.
