1966 Giulia Spider
Convertible
€69,900
£74,950
London, United Kingdom
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider followed the Giulietta Spider in 1962 and kept its Pininfarina body almost unchanged, but took the larger 1,570 cc twin-cam four of the Giulia, Tipo 101.19, with a five-speed gearbox. Some 8,850 standard cars and 1,091 Veloce were built up to 1965, before the Duetto took over.
This car was built on 10 December 1963 and sold new on 12 February 1965 through Alfa Romeo's dealer in Aden, in Yemen, in right-hand drive, a configuration the dealer believes was made only about 404 times. It came to the United Kingdom and was first registered here on 4 June 1966. Between 2015 and 2019 it was restored throughout: a bare-metal repaint in its original Grigio, chassis and underside repaired and protected by Tubeworks of Cheltenham, the engine rebuilt by Alfa specialist Bob Dove, suspension, brakes, fuel, cooling and electrics overhauled, and the cabin retrimmed in its original red, with rebuilt seats in new vinyl and new carpets. The dealer quotes 70,160 miles, about 112,910 km, and the file includes MOT records from 1979 and an Alfa Romeo certificate of origin issued in June 2023.
It is a used car, offered by Joe Macari in London, United Kingdom.
