2012 Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG for Sale in United Kingdom

This 2012 Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG is a used car showing 14,484 km. It is equipped with an Automatic transmission. The car is finished in White.

The Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG uses the 5.4-litre V8, supercharged since 2004, the most powerful engine the G-Class had carried until then, rated at 350 kW (476 PS) from 2004, when the supercharger was fitted, with a five-speed automatic and permanent four-wheel drive with three locking differentials. The G-Class keeps the ladder frame and the two rigid axles of the military vehicle it descends from, and the AMG version adds the Electronic Stability Program, Brake Assist and the four-wheel Electronic Traction System introduced on the range in 2001. The cabin keeps the upright glasshouse and the flat bonnet of the original, so the driver sits high and sees the four corners of the car; the door handles still shut with the rifle-bolt sound the model is known for.

The G-Class has been built at Graz in Austria since 1979, by Magna Steyr, and is the longest-running model line Mercedes-Benz has ever had. AMG became a Mercedes-Benz subsidiary in 1999.

FAQ

This Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG in the European market

Can this Mercedes-Benz be bought in the United Kingdom and registered elsewhere in Europe?

The car is located in Swadlincote, United Kingdom. The dealer has not stated whether the price is quoted gross, net of VAT for export, or under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.

How does the mileage of this Mercedes-Benz compare?

14,484 km recorded, against a median of 10,582 km across the Mercedes-Benz advertised in Europe in 2026. It is therefore among the higher-mileage cars currently listed. Service history and previous owners are not published on LUSSO and should be confirmed with the selling dealer.

Who is selling this Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG, and how does a purchase work?

Tom Hartley, a professional dealer in Swadlincote, United Kingdom. LUSSO lists the car and passes enquiries to that dealer; the inspection, the negotiation, the invoice and the transfer of ownership all take place directly between the buyer and the dealer. LUSSO does not hold stock, take deposits or act as an intermediary in payment.

Can this Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG be inspected before purchase?

The car is at Swadlincote, United Kingdom, and an inspection is arranged with the selling dealer. Buyers based in another country commonly appoint an independent inspector or a marque specialist rather than travel. Ask the dealer for the service record, the number of previous owners and any accident history: LUSSO does not publish these and cannot confirm them.

Is this Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG still available?

LUSSO republishes what the selling dealer advertises, and a car in demand is sometimes reserved or sold before the dealer updates its own site. Confirm current availability with Tom Hartley before travelling or committing funds. An enquiry sent from this page reaches that dealer directly.

What is needed to register this car if it does not stay in the United Kingdom?

A cross-border registration normally requires the vehicle registration document, the certificate of conformity or an equivalent type-approval record, the purchase invoice showing the VAT treatment, and proof that any tax due in the destination country has been settled. Temporary export plates and transport insurance are arranged either by the dealer or by the buyer. Requirements differ by country and should be confirmed with the selling dealer before payment.

Where can I see the wider Mercedes-Benz market?

LUSSO publishes a market overview for the G 55 AMG, covering current asking prices in Europe, availability by country, why prices differ, how VAT works on a cross-border purchase and what to compare between two cars.
