A Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed delivered new with 50 kilometres, in Zircon Red over Graphite Grey with a Crystal White and black leather cabin, on 21 inch AMG double spoke wheels.

The 3,982 cm³ twin-turbo V8 is quoted by the dealer at 585 PS, 430 kW, through a nine speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. PureSpeed is the limited series AMG built on the SL with no roof and no windscreen, the occupants sitting behind two roll structures under a Formula 1 style halo.

There are two PureSpeed in this stock and the difference is a package. This one carries the Targa Florio motorsport styling package, which is the reference AMG chose for the model: the Targa Florio was won in 1924 by a Mercedes driven by Christian Werner, and the two tone red and grey livery follows from that rather than from a colour chart. The car also has the front axle lift system, which the silver example does not, and logo projection from the side members.
