About the Norton Commando

The Isolastic frame, designed by Bauer, Hooper and Trigg, rubber-mounts the engine to keep its vibration from the rider. The Mk3 of 1975 added an electric starter, a left-foot gearchange and a rear disc brake.

Norton built the Commando from 1967 to 1977, around 60,000 in all, and it was Motorcycle News Machine of the Year from 1968 to 1972.
