The chassis and body use twelve aluminium alloys, the roofline sits 63 mm lower than the 599 it replaced, and the Aero Bridge channels air from the bonnet along the flanks. The F12 was the fastest road Ferrari of its day around Fiorano, and the boot opens on a shelf that carries a fitted luggage set.

Ferrari has built its cars at Maranello since 1943 and casts its own engines on site. The V8 line runs from the 308 to the 296, the V12 from the 250 to the 12Cilindri, and the Tailor Made and Atelier programmes will trim a car to an owner's order.
