The 6C 2500 was the first model Alfa Romeo put back into production in 1946, in a Portello works partly destroyed by the war, and this Freccia d'Oro, or Golden Arrow, is one of 680 built. Its body was assembled by Alfa's in-house coachworks, and it keeps the engine it left the factory with and its original colour.
In 1974 it was painted black for Carlo Lizzani's film on the end of Mussolini, whose cast included Henry Fonda, Rod Steiger, Lisa Gastoni and Franco Nero, and much later returned to its original finish. A body-off restoration carried out by craftsmen kept everything that was good enough, including the whole interior and the dashboard with its working instruments, and avoided an overly modern gloss. It is ready for events such as the Mille Miglia.
The car is located in Brummen, Netherlands.
