This 1947 Talbot-Lago T26 Record Cabriolet Worblaufen is a used car showing 1,677 km. It is equipped with a manual transmission. The car is finished in Dark Blue with a Red interior.
The Swiss firm Carrosserie Worblaufen of F. Ramseier & Co., highly regarded among its peers, which also bodied Alfa Romeo, Bugatti and Isotta Fraschini chassis, is believed to have built three of these cabriolets on the T26 Record, each taking some 1,600 hours of work; probably two survive. Teardrop wings, a high-set Talbot badge on the grille and a fine line of side windows mark it out.
Delivered new in 1947 to a doctor in Zurich, who kept it for decades, it passed to a second owner in the 1960s and left Switzerland in 2003. Its last owner entrusted it to one of the best Dutch restorers for a concours restoration, after which it took part in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. A detailed history with about 100 restoration photos and older pictures accompanies it.
