This 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster is a used car showing 57,034 km. It is equipped with a manual transmission. The car is finished in Black with a Red interior.
First delivered in Algiers, this Roadster came back to Germany early in the 2000s, where it was then professionally restored with care taken to keep it original. Recent radiographic, magneto-optical and material tests confirm its authenticity in detail, and it still has its matching-numbers engine.
Gallery Aaldering considers it ready for the most demanding concours. Disc brakes have been retrofitted, and the file holds the factory data card, restoration invoices and photographs. Black paint and red leather make up the colour scheme, and the photographs add a black soft top, whitewall tyres and chrome hubcaps.
The car is located in Brummen, Netherlands.
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster uses the 2,996 cc M198 straight-six, tilted 45 degrees, with Bosch mechanical direct injection and the sports camshaft as standard, rated at 215 PS (158 kW) at 5,800 rpm and 275 Nm, with a four-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels through a low-pivot single-joint swing axle. The spaceframe was reworked around the doors and tail for conventional doors and a boot, adding 125 kg for 1,420 kg in all. Drum brakes gave way to discs in March 1961, and an alloy engine block followed in March 1962.

FAQ
At €1,334,500, it sits above the median of €155,000 for the 345 Mercedes-Benz advertised in Europe in 2026. 98% of them are advertised for less. Asking prices are not transaction prices, and specification differences explain much of the spread.
The car is located in Brummen, Netherlands. The dealer quotes it as: VAT included and not reclaimable: sold under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.
The manufacturer's base list price was €16,617 in Germany, excluding options. This car is advertised at €1,334,500, 7931% above that figure. A list price is the launch price of the version without options, so a heavily specified car left the factory above it, and it says nothing about what the car is worth today. That 1957 list price is converted to euros with no adjustment for inflation.
57,034 km recorded, against a median of 14,618 km across the Mercedes-Benz advertised in Europe in 2026. It is therefore among the higher-mileage cars currently listed. Service records and ownership details should be checked against the documents held by the selling dealer.
a 2009 car in Czechia at €1,318,944, and a 1957 car in the Netherlands at €1,425,000. Observed in 2026. Comparing them means putting model year, mileage, factory options and the VAT basis side by side before the price itself.
