Overview about this 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring for sale

One of 1,580 2.7 RS built, 110 of which came to Britain, and the only right-hand-drive M472 Touring finished in special-order Gulf Orange, a colour that reached the road-car options list on the back of the 917's Le Mans wins.

Completed in March 1973, it was invoiced to Porsche Cars GB on 24 May as a factory demonstrator and came off the fleet six months later to its first private keeper in North Devon. Beyond the special-order paint it was specified with sports seats in leather with corduroy inserts, a heated rear window, electric mirrors, a driver's mirror and Carrera lettering in black.

A C16 UK-supplied car, it has never left the country and its ownership is unbroken and documented from delivery. Prill Classics confirmed the matching build in June 2026: engine number and type, gearbox and chassis stamping. It comes with its original Pflegepass maintenance record and supplementary information booklet. Right-hand drive, manual, titled in the United Kingdom.

FAQ

This Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 in the European market

How this car sits against the other Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 advertised in Europe on 2026, and what to settle before a cross-border purchase.

Can this Porsche be bought in the United Kingdom and registered elsewhere in Europe?

The car is located in Chorleywood, United Kingdom. The dealer has not stated whether the price is quoted gross, net of VAT for export, or under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.

Who is selling this Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, and how does a purchase work?

DK Engineering, a professional dealer in Chorleywood, United Kingdom. LUSSO lists the car and passes enquiries to that dealer; the inspection, the negotiation, the invoice and the transfer of ownership all take place directly between the buyer and the dealer. LUSSO does not hold stock, take deposits or act as an intermediary in payment.

Can this Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 be inspected before purchase?

The car is at Chorleywood, United Kingdom, and an inspection is arranged with the selling dealer. Buyers based in another country commonly appoint an independent inspector or a marque specialist rather than travel. Ask the dealer for the service record, the number of previous owners and any accident history: LUSSO does not publish these and cannot confirm them.

Is this Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 still available?

LUSSO republishes what the selling dealer advertises, and a car in demand is sometimes reserved or sold before the dealer updates its own site. Confirm current availability with DK Engineering before travelling or committing funds. An enquiry sent from this page reaches that dealer directly.

What is needed to register this car if it does not stay in the United Kingdom?

A cross-border registration normally requires the vehicle registration document, the certificate of conformity or an equivalent type-approval record, the purchase invoice showing the VAT treatment, and proof that any tax due in the destination country has been settled. Temporary export plates and transport insurance are arranged either by the dealer or by the buyer. Requirements differ by country and should be confirmed with the selling dealer before payment.

Where can I see the wider Porsche market?

LUSSO publishes a market overview for the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, covering current asking prices in Europe, availability by country, why prices differ, how VAT works on a cross-border purchase and what to compare between two cars. See the Porsche market overview
