The Lamborghini Jalpa uses the 3,485 cc L353 V8 with double overhead camshafts and four Weber 42 DCNF twin-choke downdraught carburettors, mounted transversely behind the cockpit, rated at 255 PS (188 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 305 Nm at 4,000 rpm in European specification, with a five-speed synchromesh manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. A development of the Silhouette styled by Marc Deschamps at Bertone, the Jalpa kept the removable targa roof. Lamborghini built 410 Jalpas between 1981 and 1988, and it remained the brand's last V8 model until the Urus of 2018.
