Overview about this 1996 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster for sale

The first Diablo VT Roadster completed, and with it the first open-top Lamborghini ever to reach production. The marque had shown open cars before, the 350 GT Spider in 1965, the Miura P400 Roadster in 1968 and the Athon in 1980, but none had been built for sale.

This car carries the lowest production number of the 466 VT Roadsters and was finished ahead of the 1995 Bologna show car. It was registered as the factory demonstrator on Italian plates ‘AF 716 ZZ’ and optioned in Bonzai Blue over Beige. It went from the factory to Peter Kaus, owner and curator of the Rosso Bianco Collection in Aschaffenburg, and the present keeper bought it in 2017, imported it to Britain and has used it sparingly since, keeping it stored between outings.

Mike Pullen of Carrera Sport inspected it in August 2025 and marque specialists carried out service work ahead of this sale. It shows 16,900 km from new. Left-hand drive, manual, titled in the United Kingdom.

This 1996 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster shows 16,900 km. It is equipped with a manual transmission. The car is finished in Bonzai Blue with a Beige interior.

The asking price is £474,995. The car is located in Chorleywood, United Kingdom.

FAQ

This Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster in the European market

How this car sits against the other Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster advertised in Europe on 2026, and what to settle before a cross-border purchase.

Is this Lamborghini priced above or below the European market?

At £474,995, about €555,738, it sits above the median of €312,196 for the 250 Lamborghini advertised in Europe in 2026. 79% of them are advertised for less. Asking prices are not transaction prices, and specification differences explain much of the spread. See the listings

Can this Lamborghini be bought in the United Kingdom and registered elsewhere in Europe?

The car is located in Chorleywood, United Kingdom. The dealer has not stated whether the price is quoted gross, net of VAT for export, or under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.

How much did this Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster cost new?

The manufacturer's base list price was €242,000 in United States, excluding options. This car is advertised at £474,995, 130% above that figure. A list price is the launch price of the version without options, so a heavily specified car left the factory above it, and it says nothing about what the car is worth today.

How does the mileage of this Lamborghini compare?

16,900 km recorded, against a median of 7,747 km across the Lamborghini advertised in Europe in 2026. It is therefore among the higher-mileage cars currently listed. Service history and previous owners are not published on LUSSO and should be confirmed with the selling dealer.

Which other Lamborghini are priced closest to this one?

a 2020 car in Germany at €554,538, and a car in Germany at €557,000. Observed in 2026. Comparing them means putting model year, mileage, factory options and the VAT basis side by side before the price itself. See the listings

Who is selling this Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster, and how does a purchase work?

DK Engineering, a professional dealer in Chorleywood, United Kingdom. LUSSO lists the car and passes enquiries to that dealer; the inspection, the negotiation, the invoice and the transfer of ownership all take place directly between the buyer and the dealer. LUSSO does not hold stock, take deposits or act as an intermediary in payment.

Can this Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster be inspected before purchase?

The car is at Chorleywood, United Kingdom, and an inspection is arranged with the selling dealer. Buyers based in another country commonly appoint an independent inspector or a marque specialist rather than travel. Ask the dealer for the service record, the number of previous owners and any accident history: LUSSO does not publish these and cannot confirm them.
