The F-1 is the half-ton model of the first F-Series, the Bonus-Built trucks made from November 1947 for the 1948 to 1952 model years; the 1951 and 1952 trucks have the large horizontal grille bar and wider-set headlamps, and the second generation of 1953 took the name F-100. From the factory the F-1 had flathead engines only, a six of 226 cu in or a V8 of 239 cu in.
Ford built the first-generation F-Series in ten North American plants, from Michigan to Texas, Pennsylvania and California.
The available examples are all from the 1953 model year.
