About the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster

The structure is a carbon fibre monocoque, moulded in eight tools each expected to last 500 pieces. The Roadster keeps it and adds a strengthened rear pillar, stiffened sills and A-pillars to carry the rollover protection and the engine ventilation, which brings the car to 1,625 kg, 50 kg more than the coupé. The roof is two carbon fibre panels of 6 kg each, lifted off by hand and stowed in the front luggage compartment, and a clip-on deflector calms the airflow in the cabin at high speed. The doors open upwards, scissor fashion.

Lamborghini builds the Aventador at Sant'Agata Bolognese and named it after a fighting bull that fought at Zaragoza in 1993. The L539 was only the second V12 the firm designed in house since the 3.5-litre engine of the 350 GT, and the Roadster was announced for production in December 2012.
