About the Lamborghini Murciélago

The bodywork is mostly carbon fibre, except for the steel roof and the aluminium scissor doors, over independent double-wishbone suspension. The active rear wing and the air intakes in the shoulders are electromechanically controlled and deploy only at high speed. The cabin was made more comfortable than the Diablo's, with the main controls and the gear lever grouped on the central tunnel.

Designed by Luc Donckerwolke, the Murciélago was the first new Lamborghini under Audi ownership and the brand's first new design in eleven years. It was built at Sant'Agata Bolognese and named after a fighting bull.
