About the Lancia Delta S4

A tubular steel space frame carries composite carbon-fibre bodywork; the rally car weighs between 890 and 1,050 kg depending on specification. Abarth built 28 complete rally chassis, alongside the Stradale road version needed for homologation.

The Delta S4 won first time out, on the 1985 Lombard RAC Rally with Henri Toivonen, and raced in the World Rally Championship until Group B was banned at the end of 1986.
