About the Kawasaki Z1

A full double-cradle frame carries a front disc and a rear drum; the 1975 Z1B brought more power, better suspension and a stiffer frame. It was the first large Japanese four with twin overhead camshafts, and set a 24-hour record at Daytona in 1972.

Kawasaki built about 85,000 Z1s from 1972 to 1975; the Z900 replaced it in 1976.
