1955 BMW 502 V8 Cabrio Autenrieth Sport-Cabriolet for Sale in Germany

This 1955 BMW 502 V8 Cabrio Autenrieth Sport-Cabriolet is a used car showing 63,471 km. It is equipped with a manual transmission. The car is finished in Brown with a Natural interior.

Georg Autenrieth's Darmstadt coachworks, which built only to order and never advertised, made this two-door 2+2 convertible on a BMW 502 chassis completed on 15 November 1955 and delivered to Baden-Baden. Only a small handful of these cars were produced, and its engine is the light-alloy V8 of a 3200 S, of about 3.2 litres and 160 hp.

It was first used in North Rhine-Westphalia, then spent many years beside the Chiemsee in Bavaria, where it was restored from the bare frame a while ago. Brown paint, natural leather and left-hand drive.

The car is located in Berlin, Germany.

The BMW 502 (3200 S V8) uses the 3,168 cc light-alloy V8 in the specification of the 3200 S, with a 9.0:1 compression ratio, rated at 160 PS (118 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 24.5 mkp at 3,600 rpm, for 190 km/h in the 3200 S saloon, with a fully synchronised four-speed gearbox with a column change, driving the rear wheels.

FAQ

This BMW 502 V8 Cabrio in the European market

Can this BMW be bought in Germany and registered elsewhere in Europe?

The car is located in Berlin, Germany. The dealer has not stated whether the price is quoted gross, net of VAT for export, or under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.

How does the mileage of this BMW compare?

63,471 km recorded, against a median of 37,627 km across the BMW advertised in Europe in 2026. It is therefore among the higher-mileage cars currently listed. Service records and ownership details should be checked against the documents held by the selling dealer.

Who is selling this BMW 502 V8 Cabrio, and how does a purchase work?

Thiesen, a professional dealer in Berlin, Germany. LUSSO lists the car and passes enquiries to that dealer; the inspection, the negotiation, the invoice and the transfer of ownership all take place directly between the buyer and the dealer. LUSSO does not hold stock, take deposits or act as an intermediary in payment.

Can this BMW 502 V8 Cabrio be inspected before purchase?

The car is at Berlin, Germany, and an inspection is arranged with the selling dealer. Buyers based in another country commonly appoint an independent inspector or a marque specialist rather than travel. Ask the dealer for the service record, the number of previous owners and any accident history, with supporting documents for the information stated in the listing.

Is this BMW 502 V8 Cabrio still available?

LUSSO republishes what the selling dealer advertises, and a car in demand is sometimes reserved or sold before the dealer updates its own site. Confirm current availability with Thiesen before travelling or committing funds. An enquiry sent from this page reaches that dealer directly.

What is needed to register this car if it does not stay in Germany?

A cross-border registration normally requires the vehicle registration document, the certificate of conformity or an equivalent type-approval record, the purchase invoice showing the VAT treatment, and proof that any tax due in the destination country has been settled. Temporary export plates and transport insurance are arranged either by the dealer or by the buyer. Requirements differ by country and should be confirmed with the selling dealer before payment.

Where can I see the wider BMW market?

LUSSO publishes a market overview for the 502 V8 Cabrio, covering current asking prices in Europe, availability by country, why prices differ, how VAT works on a cross-border purchase and what to compare between two cars.
