The 911 S 2.4 headed Porsche's range for the 1972 model year, when the flat-six grew to 2,341 cc and the stronger Type 915 gearbox arrived. With mechanical injection the S made 190 PS, more than any series 911 before it. For that year alone the oil tank sat ahead of the right rear wheel behind its own flap, the Ölklappe.
Chassis 300271 was completed in right-hand drive on 27 October 1971 in Signal Yellow with black leatherette and corduroy, and delivered on 26 November as HMY 4K, the plate it still wears. Back in Britain since 2011, it had one keeper for fourteen years while Autofarm refurbished and maintained it, keeping original parts, with invoices of about £162,000. Two history files date from 1971, and the car has featured on the covers of Total 911, GT Porsche and Ultimate Porsche.
