Giorgetto Giugiaro drew the body for Bertone, and the 1750 brought round twin headlamps and servo-assisted disc brakes at all four wheels. The first series kept the bumpers of the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce and its instruments set at a more conventional angle; the 1970 second series added slimmer bumpers with overriders and dual-circuit brakes. Leather-covered seats were offered as an option on the first series.
Alfa Romeo built the 1750 GT Veloce at Arese, near Milan, from 1967 to 1972, about 44,000 of them.
The available examples are all from the 1969 model year.
