About the Audi 80

The quattro versions of the second Audi 80 carried the internal type 85, against type 81 for the front-drive cars; the 80 quattro of November 1982 was the first Audi saloon with four-wheel drive.

The second-generation Audi 80 was launched in late summer 1978 and replaced by the B3 in 1986. The 1.8i GTE quattro was offered from January 1985 until the end of B2 production in August 1986.
