Luc Donckerwolke reworked the front with two large air intakes and moved the enlarged turn signals below the headlights. The car rides on 18-inch OZ wheels, stops on Brembo discs of 365 mm front and 335 mm rear, and weighs 1,625 kg. Inside, the cabin gained improved air conditioning and a revised alignment of the seats and pedals.

The VT 6.0 was the last evolution of the Diablo, prepared after Audi acquired Lamborghini in 1998 while the Murciélago was in development. It was built only as a coupé at Sant'Agata Bolognese, with 343 cars made in 2000 and 2001.
