Two generations. From 2009 to 2020 on the BMW L6 platform shared with the F01 7 Series, with a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V12 at 570 PS, 612 in Black Badge form, and an eight-speed ZF automatic. From 2021 on the Architecture of Luxury shared with the Phantom and the Cullinan, with a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12, all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering. The extended wheelbase has been offered since 2011.
The Ghost was shown at Frankfurt in 2009 as the shorter and less formal Rolls-Royce beside the Phantom. The second generation carries the first illuminated grille the marque has made. Rolls-Royce has built its cars at Goodwood since 2003, the year the marque restarted under BMW, which had bought the right to the name and the badge in 1998.
