1963 Morris Mini Cooper S 1071 Mk I for Sale in the Netherlands

This 1963 Morris Mini Cooper S 1071 Mk I is a used car showing 24,124 km. It is equipped with a manual transmission. The car is finished in Tartan Red with a Black interior.

The 1,071 cc Cooper S was the first S that BMC put on sale and the version behind the Mini's early class wins on the Monte Carlo Rally; it stayed in the range only until August 1964. Morris and Austin cars differed in little more than badges and grille.

This one left the line on 9 August 1963 and was delivered new in Switzerland on 19 September and later spent a long, dry life in California. Its colour scheme is the one it had at the factory, as the Heritage Trust certificate confirms. Restored and overhauled a few years ago, it has good paint, tidy chrome and glass and a very good cabin. It comes from a Dutch collector who also races, with its original handbook.

The car is located in Brummen, Netherlands.

BMC built 4,030 Cooper S cars with the 1,071 cc engine before the range was revised in August 1964; the Mini Cooper won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967.

FAQ

This Morris Mini in the European market

Can this Morris be bought in the Netherlands and registered elsewhere in Europe?

The car is located in Brummen, Netherlands. The dealer quotes it as: VAT included and not reclaimable: sold under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.

How much did this Morris Mini cost new?

The manufacturer's base list price was €811 in the United Kingdom, excluding options. This car is advertised at €49,500, 6004% above that figure. A list price is the launch price of the version without options, so a heavily specified car left the factory above it, and it says nothing about what the car is worth today. That 1963 list price is converted to euros with no adjustment for inflation.

Who is selling this Morris Mini, and how does a purchase work?

Gallery Aaldering, a professional dealer in Brummen, Netherlands. LUSSO lists the car and passes enquiries to that dealer; the inspection, the negotiation, the invoice and the transfer of ownership all take place directly between the buyer and the dealer. LUSSO does not hold stock, take deposits or act as an intermediary in payment.

Can this Morris Mini be inspected before purchase?

The car is at Brummen, Netherlands, and an inspection is arranged with the selling dealer. Buyers based in another country commonly appoint an independent inspector or a marque specialist rather than travel. Ask the dealer for the service record, the number of previous owners and any accident history, with supporting documents for the information stated in the listing.

Is this Morris Mini still available?

LUSSO republishes what the selling dealer advertises, and a car in demand is sometimes reserved or sold before the dealer updates its own site. Confirm current availability with Gallery Aaldering before travelling or committing funds. An enquiry sent from this page reaches that dealer directly.

What is needed to register this car if it does not stay in the Netherlands?

A cross-border registration normally requires the vehicle registration document, the certificate of conformity or an equivalent type-approval record, the purchase invoice showing the VAT treatment, and proof that any tax due in the destination country has been settled. Temporary export plates and transport insurance are arranged either by the dealer or by the buyer. Requirements differ by country and should be confirmed with the selling dealer before payment.
