This 1974 Triumph TR6 Overdrive is a used car showing 17,906 km. It is equipped with a manual transmission. The car is finished in Magenta with a Black interior.
Magenta is a bold choice on a British roadster of the 1970s, and the dealer makes no secret of liking it; the black cabin sets it off well. This car has been fully restored and rebuilt: body and chassis were separated, almost every part was dealt with, and plenty of new components went in along the way.
The paint is in exceptionally good condition, the chrome is sound and the seats, trim, instruments and dashboard are very well presented. On the road the dealer reports an engine with plenty of torque that responds eagerly, sharp steering and a stainless exhaust with just the right voice.
The car is located in Brummen, Netherlands.
The Triumph TR6 uses Triumph's 2.5-litre straight-six in its twin-carburettor form, the version built for the United States and Canada, with a four-speed all-synchromesh manual gearbox with an optional Laycock de Normanville overdrive, working on third and fourth on the later J-type. Karmann restyled the body, but the separate chassis, all-independent suspension with rear semi-trailing arms, rack-and-pinion steering, front discs and rear drums come from the TR5 and TR250. A removable steel hardtop, designed in-house by Triumph, was an option.
Equipment as listed by the dealer. Verify the specification with the dealer before purchase.
FAQ
At €38,500, it sits above the median of €34,625 for the 4 Triumph TR6 advertised in Europe in 2026. 50% of them are advertised for less. Asking prices are not transaction prices, and specification differences explain much of the spread.
The car is located in Brummen, Netherlands. The dealer quotes it as: VAT included and not reclaimable: sold under the margin scheme. Cross-border purchase is normal for this kind of car, but the documentation, the certificate of conformity, transport and the registration rules of the destination country all have to be settled with the selling dealer first.
The manufacturer's base list price was €2,694 in the United Kingdom, excluding options. This car is advertised at €38,500, 1329% above that figure. A list price is the launch price of the version without options, so a heavily specified car left the factory above it, and it says nothing about what the car is worth today. That 1974 list price is converted to euros with no adjustment for inflation.
17,906 km recorded, against a median of 25,996 km across the Triumph TR6 advertised in Europe in 2026. It is therefore among the lower-mileage cars currently listed. Service records and ownership details should be checked against the documents held by the selling dealer.
