The GT 53 shares its basis with the E-Class and CLS, on steel springs and adaptive dampers, and EQ Boost adds 16 kW and 250 Nm under full acceleration. An optional Aero Package brings a larger front splitter, a deeper diffuser and a rear wing. Its five-door liftback body pairs four side doors with a rear hatch.

Mercedes-AMG presented the GT 53 at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and built it in Sindelfingen until 2023.
