About the MG MGA

It is a body-on-frame car with coil springs and wishbones at the front, a rigid axle on semi-elliptic springs at the rear, rack-and-pinion steering and Lockheed drum brakes all round. Syd Enever's streamlined body, first drawn for a TD raced at Le Mans, came as an open two-seater or a coupé, on wire or steel disc wheels.

Announced in September 1955 to replace the TF, the MGA 1500 was built at Abingdon until 1959, 58,750 cars before the 1600 took over.
