Pagani Huayra for Sale

Four flaps, two at each end, move independently under a control unit fed by the anti-lock brakes and the engine management with speed, yaw rate, lateral acceleration, steering angle and throttle position, and the front ride height changes with them, so the drag coefficient varies between 0.31 and 0.37. In a corner the inside flaps rise to load that side of the car; under hard braking the rear flaps and the front suspension both go up to counter the weight shifting forward. The brakes are Brembo carbon-ceramic discs of 380 mm by 34 mm. Pagani chose a single clutch over a dual-clutch gearbox because the second would have added more than 70 kg, which no saving in shift time could repay. The titanium exhaust built by MHG-Fahrzeugtechnik, with Inconel silencers and hydroformed joints, weighs under 10 kg, and the coolant expansion tank is mounted straight onto the engine to save pipework. The doors are gullwings.

The Huayra takes its name from Wayra Tata, the Quechua god of wind, and followed the Zonda. Pagani builds it at San Cesario sul Panaro to Horacio Pagani's own design; the coupé was limited to 100 cars by the supply agreement with Mercedes-AMG, built between 2011 and 2018, and the run was sold out by February 2015.
