Renault 5 Turbo for Sale

Only the silhouette comes from the Renault 5: the engine sits in the middle, where the rear seats used to be, under widened wings and an aluminium roof. The car weighs 970 kg, and its suspension uses double wishbones. The first series, later called Turbo 1, has a cabin signed by Bertone, with its own dashboard and seats, and was built from 1980 to 1982.

Renault conceived the 5 Turbo to homologate a mid-engined rally car; the bodies were prepared by Heuliez at Cerizay and final assembly took place at Alpine in Dieppe.
