Chassis 860235 was manufactured on 19 February 1962, dispatched on 14 March and supplied new via Henlys of London through Highway Motors of Hertford.

The E-type arrived in 1961 with a 3,781 cc twin-cam straight six, a four-speed gearbox, independent rear suspension and disc brakes at each corner, in a monocoque with a tubular front structure. It is the car that rewrote what a road-going sports car could look like and how it could handle.
