This 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 is an early Series 1 example, recognisable by its paired headlamps and Borrani wire wheels, offered by Autoropa at Arlöv, near Malmö, in Sweden. Ferrari unveiled the 330 GT 2+2 at the Brussels show in 1964 as its four-seat grand tourer, drawn by Tom Tjaarda at Pininfarina, and built 625 Series 1 cars before the Series 2 of 1965 brought single headlamps and a five-speed gearbox.
It uses the 3,967 cc Tipo 209 Colombo V12, fed by three twin-choke Weber carburettors and rated at 300 PS (220 kW). The Series 1 sends it to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, on a tubular steel chassis with a live rear axle and Dunlop disc brakes.
The dealer describes a matching-numbers car, built in 1964 and delivered new in France in 1966. Modena Motorsport in Germany restored it in 1994 and repainted it in Rosso Corsa, over a tan leather interior. Between 2017 and 2019, Tim Samways Sporting & Historic Car Engineers in the UK rebuilt the V12 completely, from pistons, liners, valves and bearings to a reground crankshaft and overhauled carburettors, before a dynamometer run-in. A new clutch, an ANSA exhaust and a windscreen followed, and every invoice has been kept. The odometer reads 36,850 km, around 4,500 of them since the rebuild.
