About the Aston Martin DB12 Volante

The structure is the bonded aluminium platform introduced with the DB11, stiffened again for the DB12, with adaptive dampers and electric power steering. The Volante is the open body: a K-fold fabric roof that folds in fourteen seconds and works on the move up to 50 km/h.

Aston Martin has assembled its sports cars at Gaydon since 2003 and its V12s at Newport Pagnell before that. The bonded aluminium platform introduced with the DB11 in 2016 underpins the Vantage, the DB12 and the DBS alike, each with its own body and its own engine.
