About the MG TD

It combined the Y-type saloon's chassis with independent coil-spring front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, on 15-inch disc wheels, with bumpers as standard for the first time. It was five inches wider than the TC and was the first of the line offered with left-hand drive.

Announced in January 1950, the TD was built until 1953, nearly 30,000 cars, of which only 1,656 stayed in Britain and 23,488 went to the United States.
