Morgan 4/4 for Sale

The chassis goes back to the Series II of 1955, itself based on that of the Plus 4: independent front suspension with sliding pillars and coil springs, and a rigid rear axle on semi-elliptic leaf springs. Hydraulic dampers came with the Series III, 11-inch front disc brakes with the Series IV, dual-circuit brakes in 1971. The 4/4 1600 is an open roadster offered with two or four seats, and its door handles come from the Land Rover. Fluted tail lights, a padded dashboard and a cable-operated clutch arrived in 1971, and from 1976 the windscreen has three wipers instead of two.

Morgan built the 4/4 at Malvern, Worcestershire, from 1936 to 2018; it was the firm's first four-wheeler, and the name stands for four wheels and four cylinders. The 1600 appeared in February 1968 and 5,448 were made until 1993, 3,513 of them with the Ford Kent engine by March 1982.
