Porsche built 918 cars called the 918 Spyder, a number chosen to match the name, from September 2013 to June 2015. The run was sold out by December 2014. This is a late example, first registered in May 2015, and the seller records it as number 643.

The combustion engine is a 4.6-litre naturally aspirated V8 taken from the RS Spyder racing programme rather than from any road car, revving to 9,150 rpm and producing 608 hp on its own. Two electric motors add 279 hp, one driving the front axle, which gave a mid-engined Porsche all-wheel drive for the first time. Combined output is 887 PS and 1,280 Nm; the seller quotes 651 kW, which is the same figure from the German homologation. The seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is mounted upside down so the crankshaft sits lower in the carbon monocoque, and the exhaust exits vertically through the engine cover for the shortest path out of the cylinder heads. Porsche quotes 2.6 seconds to 100 km/h and 345 km/h.

In September 2013 a 918 with the optional Weissach package lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 57 seconds, the first street-legal car under seven minutes on that course. The package was a set of substitutions rather than more power: magnesium wheels, an extended diffuser, carbon for the windscreen frame, roof, rear wing and mirrors, Alcantara instead of leather. This car is not a Weissach. It is the standard specification in full black leather, with electric sports seats and sports suspension.

GT Silver Metallic is not a routine silver. It was created for the Carrera GT and has been used sparingly since on the cars Porsche treats as that lineage. On a body dominated by intake surfaces, the two lift-out roof panels and the active rear wing, a light metallic separates those volumes where a dark colour merges them.

The car shows 9,800 kilometres, which over ten years is neither delivery mileage nor daily use, and comes with its service book. The 6.8 kWh battery allows short journeys on electricity alone, and the drive modes are built around that: one runs the car silently out of town, another has the combustion engine charge the pack so full system output is held in reserve for a chosen stretch of road.

Porsche's German base price at launch was 768,026 euros before options. The 918 is now treated as the last Porsche hypercar of the transition to electrification, with a racing-derived naturally aspirated V8 its successors have not tried to reproduce. Cars with a documented number, an unmodified specification and a four-figure mileage are what that market pays for. Offered from Unterweitersdorf in Upper Austria at 3,290,000 euros.
