The XJ220-C is the competition version of the XJ220, built for FISA GT racing and shown at the Autosport International show in 1993. Three works cars started the 1993 Le Mans 24 Hours: one won the GT class by two laps and the other two retired with engine failure, and the class win was then withdrawn because the cars ran without catalytic converters; the FIA supported Jaguar's appeal, but the ACO ruled that it had not been lodged in time.
JaguarSport, the joint venture between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, built 282 road XJ220s from 1992 to 1994 at Bloxham near Banbury, with bodies by Abbey Panels; the road car has 550 PS and a five-speed manual gearbox.
The available examples are all from the 1993 model year.
One Jaguar XJ220 is currently listed by a single dealer in the United Kingdom.
