Derived from the XJR-9 Group C car, the XJR-15 has a chassis by Tony Southgate and a body by Peter Stevens, both in carbon fibre and Kevlar composite, for a kerb weight of 1,050 to 1,062 kg and a top speed of 307 km/h. JaguarSport built 53 chassis from 1990 to 1992, and three races at Monaco, Silverstone and Spa made up the one-make Intercontinental Challenge of 1991.
JaguarSport was the joint venture of Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, whose XJR-9 won Le Mans in 1988; the same company went on to build the XJ220.
The available examples are all from the 1991 model year.
