About the Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Coupé

The 3.5 brought the lower, wider grille that Germans call Flachkühler, rubber strips on the bumpers and flatter rear lamps, changes carried over to the six-cylinder 280 SE. Paul Bracq drew the two-door body without the fins of the W111 saloons, and its interior was more lavish than theirs.

Added to the range in 1969 as the first post-war Mercedes-Benz coupé with more than three litres, it was built until July 1971: 3,270 coupés and 1,232 cabriolets.
