About the Mercedes-Benz 280 SE

Paul Bracq drew the two-door body without the saloon's tailfins, on the full-length saloon floorpan, which makes it a true four-seater, and Sindelfingen built it largely by hand. It has 14-inch wheels and disc brakes on all four wheels. Options included a sliding sunroof, power steering and individual rear seats.

The 280 SE replaced the 250 SE in November 1967 and was built at Sindelfingen until May 1971, 3,797 coupés and 1,390 cabriolets, joined in 1969 by the 3.5-litre V8 version.
