Supplied through Maranello Concessionaires in right-hand drive, this Daytona went first to a retired Scots Guards officer in Perthshire and is one of only four UK cars ordered in Rosso Ferrari. Colin Briggs took it in 1977, Lord Mexborough then kept it for thirty-four years, and a Scottish collector followed from 2014. In 2018 its engine was rebuilt, the body repainted in the original red and the cabin retrimmed by O'Rourke. It shows just over 22,000 miles, thought to be genuine, and keeps its matching numbers.

The 365 GTB/4 was never officially called Daytona: the name came from Ferrari's one, two, three at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona and stuck. Pininfarina drew it, Scaglietti built it, and under the long bonnet sits a 4.4-litre quad-cam V12 of about 352 hp driving a rear-mounted five-speed transaxle. It was the fastest production car in the world when it arrived, and the last front-engined Ferrari flagship before the Boxer moved the engine behind the driver.
