Franco Scaglione drew the body at Bertone from the B.A.T. aerodynamic studies, and the Giulia kept the Giulietta SS shape unchanged; front disc brakes came in after roughly the first 200 cars. Inside, the Giulia has a squarer instrument cowl and a leather-covered lower dashboard, where the Giulietta's is painted in body colour.
Shown at Geneva in March 1963, the Giulia Sprint Speciale was built until 1965, with one last car in 1966: 1,400 in all, after 1,366 Giulietta SS.
